Ugg
adjective; clipping
Exceedingly ugly This is merely a clipped word. The original reasoning behind its formation probably had something to do with exaggerating a point, and if you create a word on the spot usually it prompts people to ask you what it means, unless they take it in context. And if they take it in context, they usually realize that this new word was created simply because the old one didn’t have enough saying power. Ugg is hardly used, but when it is used it carries a lot of force. Ugg also sounds uglier than ugly, and so the phonetic connotation probably helps carry on its meaning as well. Only teenagers and young adults use this word.
Etymology : Clipped from ugly. Ugly from Old Norse uggligr. From uggr 'fear'
