- "When are y'all going to the library today?"
y' all
blending; pronoun
A quick way to say “you all.” Can refer to either one person or a group of people. Y’all is commonly used in the Southern parts of the United States because many Southern accents lend themselves to the contraction. It can be used as a singular or a plural pronoun, although “all y’all” is also often used as the plural of “y’all.”
Etymology : Y’all is a contraction of you from Old English eow + all from Old English eall
