telehealth

noun blending
A set of technologies that facilitate remote communication among healthcare providers and/or their patients. Telehealth has become a prominent term in recent years due to novel technological advances such as information technology, the Internet, mobile communication, and biometric devices that allow health markers and information to be transmitted over large distances.

"Telehealth could see the complete transformation of primary care, for example, with the creation of remote diagnosis and observation rooms, allowing patients to be diagnosed via video link and subsequently seen remotely by specialists."
Etymology : Blending of the morpheme "tele-," meaning "far off" in Greek, and "health," itself derived from the Old English "haelp," meaning "wholeness" (Cited from Online Etymology Dictionary).
