Glass

proper noun clipping or zero derivation
A device by Google, Inc. that represents a pair of spectacles with a built-in mobile technology interface that can use applications, record audio-video, and conduct searches. The name refers either to "glasses," the clothing accessory from which Glass is modeled, or the substance from which Glass is (or appears to be) made.

"I knew that I was going to get Glass at some point, but after today’s demos, I think that I want to get a pair sooner rather than later."
Etymology : Clipping of "glasses"; alternatively, the zero derivation of the substance "glass" from common to proper noun form.
