sling

sound symbolism with semantic change; verb
distribute methamphetamine as a single drug dealer in the certain neighborhood

Sling used to mean hurl or throw. The drug dealer choose this word to use probably for two reasons. One reason is for speaking in code language that people outside the circle would not understand. Sling’s original meaning is pretty far from sell or distribute. The other reason is that even though methamphetamine is not as heavy as stones, which are what sling originally for, the drug dealers still consider it as a bomb to the addicts since what they offer in the series is terrific to say the least. When the addicts have a try of their product, they would feel like be slung by a huge rock. Furthermore, sling just sound like lingering around distributing crystals.
