subtweet

noun blending
A shortened form of "subliminal tweet," a tweet (a 140-character micro-blogging post on Twitter.com) that makes an often thinly-veiled negative reference to a particular Twitter user, organization, or event without mentioning by name its intended subject or recipient. Subtweets are regarded as poor etiquette on the part of the author.

"Nice subtweet! Hope you're OK." (In response to tweet by Sarah Kucharski @AfternoonNapper: "Hey, remember that time I got hypothermia outside the Sausalito post office and died because my ride was busy doing hcsm? Me too.")
Etymology : Blending of "sub-," shortened from "subliminal," and "tweet."
