Vine (3)

zero derivation Vine; noun
A short (5-10) second video.

Possibly a metaphor from the 'creeping' of a vine around a structure. Just as a vine creeps, so does a vine (in the sense of video) "creep" around the internet. Used by people who use social media (tech-savy). Vine describes a type of video that recently has become very popular with the burgeoning use of social media.
Etymology : Possibly from vine. Vine: "c.1300, from Old French vigne, from Latin vinea "vine, vineyard," from vinum "wine," from PIE *win-o-" (etymonline).
