Cronuts

blending of Croissant and Donut; noun
a pastry that is a hybrid of a croissant and a donut, created by Chef Dominique Ansel. It has recently become a trend and many imitation cronuts have appeared around the country.
 
A term that was coined by Chef Dominique Ansel to refer his new pastry creation which looked like a donut but was made with croissant dough. This term officially refers to his trademarked brand, however, many imitations have appeared, copying the style of mixing croissants with donuts.
