SLANTENDICULAR

noun; blending
A direction that is both away from and down. The speaker was trying to describe the peculiar way in which the ladies avoided his eye. By blending these two familiar words so clearly associated with direction and spacial relationships, he concisely captures it.

They were giggling to each other under the broad brims of their bonnets, and when I sat down they looked SLANTENDICULAR and giggled more than ever.
