Not quite awake, unable to get out of bed. This is a very descriptive term that did in fact capture the feeling. There are not any good short terms in English that adequately describe the feeling you have when you can’t quite get out of bed because you are not quite awake yet. ‘Foggy’ is sometimes used to describe someone who does not think straight, and it is interesting that the word SOGGY rhymes with foggy, and adds to foggy’s connotation of confused thinking an additional connotation of being stuck in bed.
