Raw

adjective;
Real, serious, unaltered, no pretenses. It is referring to a state of being as true to your self and your performance as possible when on stage. Possible reason used: Perhaps this word is used to evoke an emotional response from the listener. It evokes a sense of something in its purest form, untouched or altered in any way. Raw is usually used to describe the state of uncooked food, but in this instance the word is being used to describe a human performer. It describes a performance that is given from the heart of the performer.

Sometimes it's about finesse, sometimes we’re just on there spitting and just trying and be as raw as we can be on stage.
Etymology : Derivation by metaphoric shift
