Instaglam

blending of Instagram and glamorous; proper noun
the transformation of a person from normal to glamorous; an event hosted by Good Morning America where people submit their pictures or friends pictures to Instagram to have a chance at this makeover.

Describes the event hosted by Good Morning America to give people a makeover. Created by taking the word Instagram which is the social media site which helps to make the event possible by sharing pictures and taking the word glamorous, with the clipping "glam," putting them together to describe the makeover event. "Glam" and "gram" (from Instagram) rhyme, making the word "Instaglam" a word that rolls off the tongue easily.
Etymology : Blend of Instagram and glamorous; "Instagram" is a site where people can share photos and is a combination of "Instant" and "-gram"; "glamorous" is from 1882, from glamor(from 1720, Scottish, "magic, enchantment" (especially in phrase to cast the glamor), a variant of Scottish gramarye "magic, enchantment, spell," alteration of English grammar (q.v.) with a medieval sense of "any sort of scholarship, especially occult learning") + -ous (word-forming element making adjectives from nouns, meaning "having, full of, having to do with, doing, inclined to," from Old French -ous, -eux, from Latin -osus) (from etymonline)
