FOAM

noun acronym
Educational content related to personal health or clinical practice that is targeted towards individuals and health professionals and made available for free on a digital platform. Often interchangeable with FOAMed. Conceptually an offshoot from "MOOCs," referring to the same concept that information (here, specifically related to health) can be made available online to provide cost-free education.
 
"Tips and pearls are shared fast and furiously through various social media outlets, including blogs and podcasts. In fact, FOAM has become a leading source of N=1 innovations."
Etymology : The shortening of "Free Open Access Meducation," the latter term being a blending of "medical education."
