cypherpunk

compounding; noun
A person who uses cryptographical means to promote social change. The technology that one might use to do this are continuously changing, but some examples would be the TOR network and bitcoins.
 
"The cypherpunks believe that we all have a right to be anonymous."
Etymology : A compound of the words cypher (N.) and punk (N.). From Cypher in its modern English context, an object that allows the user to encode a message and punk meaning a person who is anti-authoritarian.
