Rice goggles

noun Slang
the distorted perception of Rice students that allows them to perceive other students who are not objectively good-looking as attractive
 
Most likely a newer version of the term “beer googles” adapted to fit the situation on Rice’s campus. “Beer goggles” is used in the situation of a bar, where the patrons appear more attractive after consuming alcohol.
Etymology : Substitution of “beer” from “beer goggles” with “Rice”
