However, there is a growing body of evidence that indicates that nematocysts are innervated and responsive to signals received and transduced elsewhere, in other parts of the animal.
Etymology : Lat. in-‘prefix meaning ‘in’ ’ + nervus ‘sinew or tendon’ + -'ate ‘verb forming suffix'
