cut #2

adjective
muscular; having well-defined muscles

A person who works out a lot and has noticeable muscles can be described as “cut.” Maybe this is because it looks like the lines of their muscles look like they were cut.
Etymology : Conversion and semantic change from the verb “cut” meaning to make an incision with a sharp tool. Cut is from the North Germanic kuta- meaning “knife.”
Source : A friend said they wanted to get “cut” by next semester. (10/22/13)
