jelly #2

adjective
jealous, envious

: This is an informal, slang way to describe someone who is jealous. It is often said in a joking, good-natured manner. A person may tell their friend that they are “jelly” when their friend shares good news. This word may have been created to convey a less serious version of the word “jealous.”
Etymology : Clipping of the word “jealous” and suffixation with –lly; from gelus (1300s) meaning “possessive and suspicious”
Source : I told my friend I was going to a concert, to which she replied, “I am so jelly!” (11/3/13)
