La Ronde

noun; folk etymology
a form of improv which starts with a series of two person scenes where each person is in back-to-back scenes with different characters (A meets B, B meets C, C meets D, D meets A) and the following scenes play on those starting scenes
 
Tonight, the troupe will perform a La Ronde.
Etymology : named after a the book by Arthur Schnitzler where people in different statuses meet eachother
Source : September 2011 Spontaneous Combustion, Rice's improv comedy troupe, performed a set of this style
