icy

adjective; derivation inherited derivation
stylish, fashionable

This term originates from the word "cool" meaning 'popular or trendy.' This term evolved into icy because when water is extremely cool it becomes ice, so when something is extremely cool, stylish or trendy it becomes icy. This term is commonly used to describe fashionable clothes, jewelry and shoes. It is most commonly used in African American English, though usage has expanded to most teenage vernacular.
