- I see, so you’re an E-Med...
E-Med
acronym noun; blending and clipping
An E-Med is a student who is both studying Biological Engineering and is a Pre-Med. This term has a negative connotation as students who do this are often looked down upon or judged unfairly by others who believe them to be overachievers who are only studying Bio.E because they believe it will help them with Med-School. Unfortunately, this is a stigma held against many Pre-Meds, especially those in STEM fields.
Etymology : This is formed by clipping Bio.E and Pre-Med and then blending them into E-Med. Bio.E refers to a student studying Biological Engineering.
