Southwest defines “transfarency” as a philosophy created by Southwest Airlines in which customers are treated honestly and fairly, and low fares actually stay low.
 
The word was created by the company’s marketing team to emphasize that what the customer sees is what he or she will pay.
Etymology : It is a blend of the words transparent and fares in order to explain to customers that the price that you see with Southwest is the price you will pay.
