Blurple

noun; blending and clipping
A color that is a mix between blue and purple. The color "blurple" has a shade that is composed of the combination of blue and purple hues. One might normally use the color violet in the place of blurple, however this would not be exactly accurate because violet is composed of more of a reddish-blue hue. Sometimes it may be difficult to tell if something is a dark blue or dark purple color. In this instance one might use the word "blurple" to describe the shade of the object.

That flower has a shade of blurple to it.
Etymology : Clipping and blending [blue+purple]
