Hy

interjection; acronym
Stands for ‘hell yeah’ or ‘hell yes’ and is used as a congratulatory exclamation to indicate approval or praise for some aspect of someone’s actions.

The acronym is used with the pronunciation of both letters and takes on a slightly different meaning from what it stands for. It is mostly used as a more enthusiastic ‘congratulations’ or ‘good job’ and is usually used in situations where the action being complimented is of questionable reasoning and usually some element of stupidity. It can also be used when the action being described is considered just overall really cool or especially noteworthy. Another common use of hy is as a sarcastic quip which is teasing the recipient for doing or saying something stupid.
Etymology : Formed from the first letters of the interjection ‘hell yes’
