Spoopy

adjective; blending
The word spoopy is meant to describe something that is supposed to be scary but is cute and non-frightening instead. It is usually used to denote cute Halloween decorations and costumes. It is most likely a blend of spooky, an adjective for something that is unsettling, and the very boop, which refers to the act of lightly touching something that you find cute on the nose in an affectionate manner. The blend, therefore, denotes something that could be scary but in reality you would feel comfortable interacting with because it is cute and harmless.

“Those ghosts are so spoopy!”
