floorsgiving

noun; blending
“Floorsgiving” in a noun and a blend. It refers to the annual event on 7th floor at Brown College, when all the students of 7th get together, order food, and talk about what they are thankful for: a pre-thanksgiving celebration on the floor.
Etymology : Although the word could be thought of as a compounding of the words “floors” and “giving”, the fact that 7th floor is only one floor, yet the word contains “floors-“ in it, is probably indicative that the word was formed as a blend of the words “floor” and “thanksgiving”, explaining the presence of the “s”, as having originated from “thanksgiving”, rather than “floors”.
