tbh2

noun; initialism
“Tbh” is a noun and an initialism. The phrase “like for a tbh” is now common among the younger generations, and used on facebook. It works as a kind of contract, so that if a person says “like for a tbh” on one of their pictures, and you like said picture, you will get a “tbh” on your facebook wall. This “tbh” is usually a short remark on why that person likes you and how you should spend more time together.
Etymology : “Tbh” was originally an initialism and a contraction of the phrase “To be honest”. In our case, the word takes on a very specific role, in setting up the type of contract mentioned above, where a person asks for a “tbh”, in other words, asks from some honest, heartfelt remarks on their facebook page. Ironically, a place as public as facebook is not the best place for such remarks to take place, and a “tbh” usually turns out to be something generic and almost meaningless.
