Etymology : The word jump off used in this case may come from the word jump-off. One meaning off jump-off is a place where you jump off of. When you jump off of something, the moment you spend air bound is fleeting. You may also experience moments of excitement or adrenaline, particularly if the jump-off was high off the ground. The fleeting time airborne and the excitement of the jump may correspond to the excitement of sex and the amount of time allotted to the jump off (small amount and only for sex).
