- This word has probably only ever been used once, because the emphasis in conversation tends to lie far more heavily on the fact that the word is a pun rather than its actual meaning. As such, people hear it, realize it’s a pun, and yell at you for making a pun instead of continuing whatever conversation about chocolate was happening before. This creates an interesting self-referential situation where the word “cacaophony” is effective at stopping people from continuing to create a cacaophony.
cacaophony
noun; blending
The act of making a lot of noise or talking a lot about chocolate, to the point where it disturbs or infringes on the peace of others.
Etymology : Blending of “cacao” and “cacophony”. Alternatively, a derivation based on “cacao” + “phon” + “y”, although this interpretation ignores the importance of its similarity to the preexisting word “cacophony”.
