WOAT

acronym Noun
Worst of all time. Generally, referring to a person, but it can also refer to a thing.

This is another example of text/cyber lingo becoming verbal slang. There is WOAT and on the opposite end GOAT (greatest of all time). These acronyms are used in very informal contexts and generally exaggerate the positive or negative aspects of an event or person. For example, if your boyfriend breaks up with you, your friend might say: “Oh, he’s the WOAT.” In actuality, he is not the worst person to ever exist, but using WOAT signifies an emotional understanding. It is very common among college students, specifically fraternities and sororities. Again, it is used in an informal context. If someone passed away, you would not say: “Oh, that’s the WOAT.”
Etymology : An acronym formed from the phrase “worst of all time.”
