Enginerd

noun; blending and clipping
Someone who uses his training in engineering to solve daily problems. When one hears engineer, one imagines someone wearing glasses and a pocket protector. However, not all engineers are nerdy, as it were. Some are socially adept and have interests outside of engineering. These people should not be stigmatized for their choice of study or career. Enginerd is a term for those most dedicated to engineering, who sacrifice the semblance of a normal life for it. Blending engineer with nerd creates a succinct name for this special type of person. Englinerd has a similar composition to enginerd, and describes those who are absolutely devoted to the study of English all the time.

If you're an enginerd, we can make an exception, because engineers suck at scrabble.
Etymology : enginerd. Blend/clipping of engine(er) x nerd.
