QCTM

verb; acronym
Quietly Chuckling to Myself

Acronyms such as QCTM are used in replace of things like LOL, which many people use without literally laughing out loud — you would use QCTM if someone sent you a text that made you quietly laugh, but not laugh out loud. It’s a bit sarcastic; you could use it like “oh, you only made me QCTM, not LOL *insert eye-rolling emoji*.” It was probably coined as a bit of joke, poking fun at how absurd some text-speak acronyms get (e.g. ROFLMAO). However, it could’ve also been coined out of necessity for an acronym to describe what people generally do when they see something funny on the Internet/get something funny sent to them via text.
Etymology : Coined by people tired of others using “LOL” and “LMAO” etc. without actually doing those actions; instead, the most common reaction to a funny text/situation is to quietly laugh to [myself] = QCTM.
