Supertaster

noun Compound
Someone who experiences flavors, like sweet and bitter, more intensely

Describes someone who has more taste buds than the average person, apparently making them experience flavors stronger. Apparently coined by a psychologist at Yale in 1991 after studying taste sensitivity and noting the stark differences in reactions to the same flavor in people. Although coined in 1991, it hasn’t really been used until recently. Recent rise in popularity could be because of it’s relation to ‘superhero’ or ‘superpower;’ which catches people’s eye and piques their interest. It also gives picky eaters an excuse for the way they are. "Broccoli is a supertaster food. Some people have a gene that makes them hate it. Similar to cilantro."
Etymology : Compound of super and taster
