Deadnaming

verb Compounding
To refer to someone by their name before they transitioned when they have adopted a new name

Could come from referring to the a name used before transitioning as their ‘dead name,’ and is the verb form of such. Has a negative connotation. If someone is deadnaming someone else, it is typically with malicious intent; probably done on purpose with the intent to disrespect a transgender person. “Traits that are ugly: misgendering ppl, deadnaming ppl, equating presentation with gender”
Etymology : Compound of dead and name + ing
