bruh

other word formation type creative respelling of ‘bro’; extended, more common; interjection
Refers to a person in an informal way, usually a peer of the speaker.

It is used in the same context as one would use ‘bro’ or ‘man’. However, ‘bruh’ doesn’t have the male connotations associated with ‘bro’ and ‘man’.It also doesn’t have the fratty undertone that ‘bro’ and ‘man’ do. that could be why it is used more widely than ‘bro’ and ‘man’ because of this and has been adopted by young people of all backgrounds. ‘Bruh’, when used as an interjection, is the same as the idiom “are you serious?”.
