pleb

noun; clipping
plebeian, commoner

“pleb” is usually used to self-deprecatingly reference yourself or a person you are talking to in response to a technical detail or custom you are not familiar with. It is shortened from “plebeian” to be less formal and fit a tone of “oh I’m just a commoner I don’t know these higher-level things.”
Etymology : clipped first syllable of “plebeian”
