Scroogled 3

blending
Getting led to the wrong destination, or to a weird or sketchy road en route, by Google Maps.

This is a blend word that blends the words ‘screw(ed)’ and ‘Google’. The word Google here refers to the Google Maps app, which is one of the most widely used navigation application all over the world. A lot of people have experiences of ending up in a weird location that is a block or two away from their desired destination or if the original shop or a diner they were going to had recently closed down. Sometimes, Google Maps, for whatever reason, navigates people into a weird road that seems segregated from human civilization, or gives ineffective suggestions when it is evident by the driver that there exists a better one. The word Scroogled was made to describe these kinds of situations, in which Google Maps screwed people up.
Etymology : Blend word from the roots ‘screw(ed)’ and ‘Google (maps)’
