Board (2)

verb Clipping and zero derivation
To ride on a skateboard.

Are boards welcome? Yes, if you can board that. I honestly don’t know how far it is yet.
Etymology : The noun “skateboard” has been converted into a verb, which has then been clipped into just “board,” possibly as a way to make the word quicker to say as opposed to the original compound word. The use of skateboard as either a noun or verb is standard, so when a question used the clipped version of skateboard as a noun, the response kept the clipped version while maintaining the accepted use of “skateboard” as both parts of speech.
Source : Two students on Facebook discussing the feasibility of skateboarding during Bike and Beats, an event where participants ride bikes through the Houston community, posted November 2018.
