- "I got a C on my paper. It be like dat sometimes." Person A: "I can't play videogames because I have a paper to write." Person B: "It be like dat sometimes."
it be like dat sometimes
Used by a speaker in response to negative news as a sign of sympathy and acceptance. Synonymous with "it is what it is" and "so it goes." Used immediately after something the speaker just said, or in response to something someone else said. Sometimes clipped to "it be like dat."
Source : Rice University, August 2018. Used frequently in college campuses across America, judging by my friends' experiences.
