Mornting
noun; other word formation type Novel Creation
“Mornting” has the same definition of the original “morning” meaning first part of the day.
Etymology : “Mornting” is a novel creation involving a creative re-pronounciation and re-spelling of the word “morning” with an added “t.” The added “t” makes the word diminutive or cutesy, as reformulating words in this way is typical of drag and gay culture. Although the exact origins of the word is unknown, some believe that it is related to the African American Vernacular English in which gay black men add “t” after the “n” in various nouns. However, some drag queens known to use the term themselves say there is no real meaning behind the creation of the word “mornting” as the creation of new colloquialisms for a specific sub-group is fun and is a way for that sub-group to formulate their collective identity. Other similar “t” added words used by drag queens include “hunty.” While some postulate that “hunty” is a blend of “honey” and “cunt,” others believe that it is truly a novel creation with no known etymology or origin.
