Someone who has admirable qualities
 
Used casually to refer to people one approves of or who has done something nice recently. Also used as a term of endearment for a friend. It is not only used to refer to men but is gender-neutral.
Etymology : A widening of the word “king” which has been adapted to more casual usages over time.
