Mint

clipping; adjective
Something that is great or awesome.
 
While the word was at first used sarcastically to describe an object in a state of disrepair (and at the same time riff on “in mint condition”), the word can now mean anything that is great or awesome and can be used both sarcastically and seriously.
Etymology : A clipping of the phrase “of mint condition.” The word from that phrase was possibly derived metaphorically from the word “mint” that described a ‘mint flavor,’ as the flavor feels particularly clean. That “mint” is from the “mint” of the ‘mint plant.’ However, a possible other path from “of mint condition” is that the “mint” referred to a ‘place where money is printed,’ metaphorically relating the thing described to freshly printed money.
