Sharenting (2)

verb; blending
The overuse of social media by parents who share content on their children.

Word is derived by blending the verbs “Parenting” and “Sharing.” Used because of the growth of social media. Often “Sharenting” refers to a parent who is using their child without their consent to gain popularity in apps such as Instagram, Twitter or Facebook. In most cases the children aren’t aware when the “Sharenting” happens. This leads to problems in the future as the child can question the actions of their parents. Because of this “Sharenting” carries with it questions over privacy often seen with social media in the 21st century.
Etymology : Blending of "sharing" and "parenting."
