incel55

blending noun
A term commonly used to describe sexually frustrated males of the modern internet age. The term can also be applied to females but, in common use, is almost exclusively used in reference to males. These males are also many times self-identifying, and tend to congregate on internet forums, where dangerous and offensive rhetoric is commonly fostered. Members of the incel community tend to project their own insecurities onto other members of society with a higher social quotient. They derogatorily refer to other males who socialize with members of the opposite gender as “Chads,” and tend to insult members of the opposite gender in a myriad of ways for not seeing the dating potential in a “nice guy” like them.

Although actual self-identifying members of this community tend to have some concerning sentiments, this term is often thrown around in male friend groups as a sort of teasing term.
Etymology : Blending formed between the adjectives “involuntary” and “celebate.”
Source : “Incels are part of a growing trend of radical-right movements that are anguished by the success of neoliberalism. Like these other political happenings, how incels relate to our neoliberal present is far from coherent.” - Fair Observer, November 2019
