Galaxy Brain (2)

noun; verb; compounding
A transcendent idea

Associated with meme. More commonly used by younger generations with access to technology and common indulgence in memes. It is possible that the makers of the meme intentionally created this image with the idea of the night sky in mind or not. The viewers made this connection through metaphor, regardless.
Etymology : Compound of “galaxy” and “brain”. Through conversion, the noun “galaxy brain” used to refer to the meme was used in this context as a verb, to say that the character had a thought worthy of the final image in the meme. A common meme format is that of a chart, with words on one side, and a complimentary picture on the other. The meme that this references has first has a picture of a small brain without lighting to imply that the words to the side represent a small or narrow-minded idea. The image below this has a brain that is lit up, to evoke imagery of synapses firing, or perhaps to liken it to a lightbulb, which is often used in comics to signify an epiphany. This image is used to imply that the words to its side are more thoughtful than those for the image proceeding it. Finally, the galaxy brain picture shows a translucent person with lights surrounding them and their brain. This communicates that the words to its side are practically mind-blowing in novelty, creativity, or thoughtfulness. The little pinpricks of light throughout the otherwise dark image look somewhat similar to the night sky, which has a dark sky interrupted by pinpricks of starlight. Due to the similarity, the image was described as a “galaxy brain”.
