Hungers

derivation; adjective
: feeling when a person feels they cannot wait to eat any longer

This was said as a different form of hungry, so the meaning could be slightly different. It came from using the typically ending for a plural then applying it to an adjective. If it was a plural it would mean a person has more than one hunger. As an adjective it relates to a person feeling more hungry than usual like they have more than one hunger. I think the person said it because it expressed a slightly different idea than hungry, and it was more fun for them to say.
Etymology : possibly from old English word hunger, with -s affix added
