- Often used as a drop-in replacement for crap. Was probably invented for a situation where “crap” was appropriate, but due to overuse would not have the desired intensity. Has a negative connotation, but, like crap, can also apply to neutral situations. Unlike crap, it is more often used to refer to abstract concepts or situations than physical objects.
