Digiscoping

verb; blending; derivation affixation
The action of using digital devices to record videos or take pictures through binoculars or telescopes.

During birdwatching trips, most of the time the birds are sighted with binoculars or monoculars. If the birder would like to take a picture of the birds, it would be difficult to do so without professional cameras because the distance between the person and the birds is too great. However, cameras are often too expensive for amateurs. So, people use their smartphones held against binoculars to record the birds.
Etymology : Blending of digit and telescope and adding the affix -ing to indicate action with the morph tele in telescope deleted for convenience.
