multietatuary

adjective; derivation
Possessing members from many states, provinces, or territories within the same nation. The adjective was formed because the speaker wished to express the diversity of Rice University, but a sufficient existing word could not be found. This word seems to mimic the structure of "multidisciplinary," while its meaning parallels the meaning of "multinational."

Rice is the only school in Texas that doesn’t play "Deep in the Heart of Texas" at sporting events. They’re trying to be multietatuary.
Etymology : Latin multi- ‘many’ + Fr. etat ‘state’ + Lat. -ari ‘of the kind of, belonging to’
Source : conversation with a friend while walking to a Rice football game
