possessing creative and artistic ability Artsy is used as an alternative way of saying artistic. It conveys a more upbeat and fun connotation. I have used this word in the silly phrase describing one as being “artsy-fartsy.” In some usage it is used to demean a work of art as attempting to achieve artistic merit.
